Zusammenfassung
Der Knochen im Wachstumsalter wird in Epiphyse, Metaphyse und Diaphyse unterteilt, wobei die Wachstumsfuge Epiphyse und Metaphyse trennt. Der Knochen wächst in der Epiphysenfuge in die Länge und peri- und endostal in die Dicke. Die primär knorpeligen Epiphysen werden durch langsam wachsende Knochenkerne radiologisch darstellbar und sind für jede Altersgruppe charakteristisch. Mit Wachstumsabschluss verknöchert die Wachstumsfuge. Die Knochenheilung im Kindesalter erfolgt über Kallusbildung und ist altersabhängig schnell. Je älter die Kinder sind, umso geringer ist jedoch die Korrekturrate im Rahmen der Heilung.
