Zusammenfassung
Background and goals: Experienced teams will always strive to optimize their work organization and communication. Team competence training (TCT) promotes key qualifications such as communication, cooperation, creativity and the ability to efficiently deal with criticism and emerging problems. TCT is able to increase personality development, social abilities and cooperation. It reduces conflicts and develops new relationships among team members. Methods: Clinical trial using a prospective design. A convenience sample of all nurses are assessed 14 days before and 28 days after the training measured by »Fragebogen zur Arbeit im Team« (FAT) and »Tübinger Questionaire about work in teams« (TüSkala). Results: First results (n = 56) show a positive trend. The FAT indicates positive developments in 22 of 24 items in categories like target-oriented actions, mastery of tasks, team spirit and accountability. The TüSkala also shows a positive development in 11 of 12 traits, mainly in assurance, courage and perception of one’s own body. Conclusions: TCT seems to be effective. Reasons are discussions on the meaning of team competence and future goals. Being out in nature facilitates the members to experience themselves and their colleagues in a new way and to assume different roles while striving to collectively solve the given tasks. Working as a team, they overcome personal limits and anxieties. Having shared such intense experiences leads to the development of a new kind of trust and forms a new foundation for future work relations.
