Zusammenfassung
Nahrung dient dem Körper als Energielieferant für physiologische Leistungen. Diese chemischen, physikalischen oder mechanischen Leistungen führen zu Aufbau oder Erhalt von Strukturen oder deren Funktion. Unter physiologischen Bedingungen laufen anabole und katabole Stoffwechselwege parallel ab und stehen im Gleichgewicht. Die oxidative Verwertung der Nährsubstrate (Kohlenhydrate, Fette, Aminosäuren) resultiert in der Bildung von energiereichen Phosphaten (Adenosintriphosphat, ATP). Dieses ATP kann dann ubiquitär verwendet werden.
