Atem- und Kreislaufstillstände bei Kindern, Säuglingen oder Neugeborenen sind eher seltene Notfälle und somit eine besondere Herausforderung für das Rettungsfachpersonal. Außerdem sind die anatomischen und physiologischen Gegebenheiten, Techniken und Bezugsgrößen, z. B. Volumina, anders als beim Erwachsenen.
