Zusammenfassung
Die akute Herzinsuffizienz ist der häufigste Grund für Krankenhauseinweisungen bei Patienten über 65 Jahre. Die Inzidenz nimmt mit der Überalterung der Bevölkerung sowie der besseren Überlebenschance nach akutem Myokardinfarkt und der daraus resultierenden steigenden Zahl von Patienten mit chronischer Herzinsuffizienz weiter zu.
