Zusammenfassung

Thoraxtraumen betreffen sowohl den Weichteilmantel (► Kap. 25), das knöcherne Skelett als auch die intrathorakalen Organe. Verätzungen werden im ► Kap. 24 behandelt. Beim eigentlichen Thoraxtrauma sind die inneren Organe betroffen. Es handelt sich um ein schweres Krankheitsbild, welches im Kindesalter dennoch in der Regel konservativ zu therapieren ist. Knöcherne Verletzungen sind selten, zu Frakturen der Wirbelsäule ► Kap. 12.
