Zusammenfassung

Die Greiffunktion unsere Hände wird maßgeblich durch die Funktion der Grundgelenke (metakarpophalangeale Gelenke , MCP) und Mittelgelenke (proximale interphalangeale Gelenke , PIP) bestimmt. Die Endgelenke (distale interphalangeale Gelenke, DIP) nehmen dagegen nur eine untergeordnete Rolle in der Greiffunktion der Hand ein. Ein Verlust der Beweglichkeit der MCP- und PIP-Gelenke an den ulnaren Strahlen (Ring- und Kleinfinger) bedeutet ein Verlust für das Greifen von kleinen Gegenständen und auch einen erheblichen Verlust für die Kraft beim Greifen von Gegenständen aller Größen. An den radialen Strahlen ist der Verlust der Beweglichkeit weniger einschränkend, da hier die Stabilität für den Spitz-und Schlüsselgriff zum Daumen eine weitaus wichtigere Rolle spielt.
