Zusammenfassung

Weniger als die meisten anderen Interventionen beim kranken oder unreifen Neugeborenen basiert die Ernährung auf gesicherten Fakten. Oft sind Ernährungsempfehlungen aus der Physiologie abgeleitet und verwenden die intrauterine Gewichtszunahme als Goldstandard. Nur wenige Ernährungsstudien haben die langfristige Lebensqualität untersucht. Niedriges Geburtsgewicht, aber auch rasche postnatale Gewichtszunahme sind jedoch mit spezifischer Morbidität im Erwachsenenalter assoziiert (perinatale Programmierung für Diabetes, Hochdruck, koronare Herzkrankheit), sodass schnelle Gewichtszunahme des Frühgeborenen als einziger Zielparameter immer fragwürdiger wird [8, 9, 32].
