In dem Spiel „River Raid“ hat der Spieler die Aufgabe, gegnerische Flugzeuge und Schiffe abzuschießen. 1984 setzte die Bundesprüfstelle für jugendgefährdende Medien (BPjM) das Spiel auf den Index. Begründet wurde die Indizierung damit, dass das Spielen die Aggression der Spieler erhöhe. Im Jahre 2002 entwickelte der Hersteller eine Version für die Playstation 2 und beantragte daher eine erneute Überprüfung der Indizierung. Diesmal erfolgte eine Freigabe ohne Altersbeschränkung.
