Zusammenfassung
Übelkeit und Erbrechen in der postoperativen Phase (PONV) sind häufige und sehr unangenehme Nebenwirkungen von Operation und Narkose. Diese störende Komplikation wirkt sich ungünstig auf die postoperative Erholung der Patienten aus und sollte daher konsequent, am besten mit einem multimodalen Therapie- und Prophylaxekonzept angegangen werden.
Neben der Vermeidung emetogener Trigger - im Wesentlichen sind hier bei Allgemeinanästhesien die volatilen Anästhetika und Öpioide zu nennen - stellen Kortikosteroide sowie spezifische Antiemetika als Rezeptorantagonisten an Dopamin-, Serotonin-, Histamin-, Acetylcholin-, neuerdings auch Neurokininrezeptoren ein wichtiges Armentarium für den Anästhesisten dar.
