Zusammenfassung

In der Therapie des Schocks und bei der Therapie kritisch kranker Patienten ist der Wert einer schnellen und effektiven Volumentherapie unumstritten. Durch Erhalt und Wiederherstellung des notwendigen Plasmavolumens verbessert man die Organperfusion und erhält die notwendige Mikrozirkulation [9].

Wegen des hohen Preises, der begrenzten Verfügbarkeit und potenzieller Nebenwirkungen körpereigener Plasmapräparate werden sehr häufig körperfremde Volumenersatzmittel eingesetzt an die spezielle Anforderungen zu stellen sind. Es wird eine Vielzahl von Präparatenangeboten, um in den verschiedensten klinischen Situtionen das verlorene Plasmavolumen wieder auszugleichen. Trotz intensiver tierexperimenteller Forschung und zahlreicher klinischer Studien ist ungeklärt, welcher von Plasmaersatzmittel, kristalloid oder kolloidal, vorzugsweise zu verabreichen ist [2].
