Diagnostische Arthroskopie bei Schmerzen oder Gelenkblockaden, falls die Ursache trotz Einsatz bildgebender Verfahren nicht gefunden wird. Sonst im Vorlauf zur arthroskopischen oder offenen Operation wie Entfernung freier Körper, Behandlung der Osteochondrose des Capitulum humeri, Synovektomie, Arthrolyse mit Osteophytenresektion, Debridement bei Epicondylitis radialis. Wie an der Schulter eignet sich die diagnostische Arthroskopie zur Durchführung durch den fortgeschrittenen Facharztanwärter, während die anschließende arthroskopische Operation dem spezialisierten Facharzt vorbehalten bleibt.
