Zusammenfassung
Ursprünglich handelte es sich in der klassischen Einteilung um Frakturen des mittleren Drittels des Oberschenkels. Aufgrund des Einsatzes moderner Verriegelungsnägel hat sich die operative Versorgung dieser Frakturen inzwischen auf 3/5 des Femurs und sogar daruber hinaus ausgeweitet und umfasst nun auch subtrochantäre Frakturen und distale, supracondyläre Frakturen. Supracondyläre Frakturen werden in der AO-Klassifikation jedoch separat behandelt. Wie die Brüche des Femurs nach der AO-Klassifikation einer Region zugeordnet werden, ist im Detail in ▸ Kap. 1 ersichtlich. Zur Region 32 des Femurs zählen alle Brüche, deren Frakturzentrum außerhalb eines Quadrats liegt, dessen Kantenlänge der gr ößten Breite der distalen bzw. proximalen Epiphyse liegt (▸ Kap. 1). Das Zentrum liegt bei einer einfachen Fraktur in der Mitte der Bruchlinie. Bei der Keilfraktur wird es durch die breiteste Stelle des Keils festgelegt. Weiter distal lokalisierte Frakturzentren sind der Region 33 distaler Oberschenkel zuzuordnen. Subtrochantäare Frakturen werden generell der Region 32 Oberschenkelschaft zugeordnet.
