Zusammenfassung
Traumatische Weichteildefekte an der unteren Extremität machen einen Großteil der Fälle in der rekonstruktiven Chirurgie aus. Die vergleichsweise schlechte Durchblutungssituation und der dünne und schlecht verschiebliche Weichteilmantel des Unterschenkels haben eine Rekonstruktion früher erheblich erschwert. Diese Umstände verhinderten ein radikales Débridement und führten so häufig zu verzögerten Heilungsverläufen und sekundären Komplikationen. Erst durch die Entwicklung mikrochirurgischer Techniken ist in vielen Fällen eine Erhaltung von amputationsbedrohten Extremitäten möglich geworden.
