Zusammenfassung

Distale Femurfrakturen stellen eine schwere Verletzung der unteren Extremität dar, die vornehmlich das mehr jugendliche Patientengut – als Folge eines Hochrasanztraumas – oder den älteren Menschen mit osteoporotischem Knochen betreffen. Nach sorgfältiger preoperativer Diagnostik, stehen unterschiedliche Versorgungsstrategien und operative Verfahren zur Verfügung. Durch die Einführung von neuen Stabilisierungskonzepten (Verriegelungsplatten „Locked Plates“, retrograde Nagelsysteme) hat sich das operationstechnische Vorgehen weiter standardisiert und die Notwendigkeit von Zweiteingriffen reduziert. Dennoch verbleibt die distale Femurfraktur eine Herausforderung der chirurgischen Versorgung und Nachbehandlung.
