Zusammenfassung

Die Expanderimplantation zur Gewebeexpansion in der heutigen Form geht auf die Arbeiten von Neumann in den 1950er-Jahren zurück Die Grundidee ist die Schaffung von zusätzlichem Gewebe zur Deckung eines großen Defektes bei gleichzeitiger Möglichkeit eines primären Wundverschlusses der Hebestelle. Die Größe des Defektes limitiert oft die Nutzung von benachbartem Gewebe zur Defektdeckung, das nicht in ausreichender Menge vorhanden ist. In diesen Fällen ist die Gewebeexpansion eine sehr gute Methode, um ortsständig Gewebe für eine Defektdeckung zu erhalten.
