Abstract

This poster describes the development of a presentation mode for process models that are created with the sociotechnical modeling method SeeMe. It explains how such a mode can be valuable to guide an audience through a presentation and assist in the discussion of a model. Based on the characteristics of a typical presentation scenario and the analysis of an existing version of a presentation mode in the process editor, arising challenges are identified. These include reliably drawing the attention of different stakeholders to the same information, dynamically integrating feedback into the model during the discussion and guaranteeing intuitive and user-friendly interaction for different input methods. A first iteration of a new presentation mode in a web-based editor is introduced. It aims to meet these challenges by using flexibly enlargeable and movable windows within the editor that can be placed around relevant model elements to highlight them, while greying out the rest of the model. First test results with this version reveal issues with the user interface and the touch interaction but hint at the general benefit of the approach. In the future, a larger-scale evaluation of usability and user experience is planned.
