Abstract
This volume focuses on care as a life-long, developmental construct. The organization of the book allows the reader to explore infant and child issues or adult caregiving issues, or to read the entire text. The process of caregiving is viewed from nine junctures across the life span. Each of the chapters provides an overview of a critical developmental period and makes recommendations for future work in the areas of practice, education, research, and policy and advocacy, making this book useful for a variety of readers. It is the hope of the editors that Caregiving Across the Life Span: Birth Through End-of-life Care provides a critical review and offers thought-provoking recommendations for the advancement of caregiving across the life span.
