Zahlreiche epidemiologische Untersuchungen belegen, dass Frauen im Vergleich zu Männern ein zwei- bis dreimal höheres Risiko haben, im Laufe ihres Lebens an einer unipolaren Depression zu erkranken (Kessler et al. 1993; Weissman et al 1994). Lässt sich daraus schlieβen, dass Männer tatsächlich ein geringeres Depressionsrisiko haben?
