Zusammenfassung

Prinzipiell sollten chirurgische Interventionen im Kindesalter in pädiatrischen Einrichtungen erfolgen. Verfügen Versorgungskrankenhäuser über die entsprechende medizinische (sowohl chirurgische als auch anästhesiologische) und pflegerische Erfahrung mit pädiatrischen Patienten und sind die infrastrukturellen Gegebenheiten für eine kindgerechte Unterbringung und Versorgung gegeben, so könnten gewisse sogenannte kleinere Eingriffe jenseits des Säuglingsalters auch dort vorgenommen werden. Grundsätzlich gilt es, den Konfortgewinn für die Familie aufgrund einer wohnortnahen Betreuung in einem Versorgungskrankenhaus nicht auf Kosten einer unnötigen Gefährdung für das Kind zu erkaufen. Im vorliegenden Artikel werden Prinzipien der klinischen Diagnostik und Therapie einiger häufiger kinderurologischer Entitäten beschrieben und diskutiert.

Abstract

Principally, surgical procedures in children should be performed in specialized pediatric centers. Some minor procedures on older children could eventually take place in general hospitals, provided that pediatric medical and nursing competence is available. Adequate infrastructure and an environment appropriate for children are required as well. The comfort of therapy in an adjacent general hospital should not lead to an increased risk for the child. Principles of clinical diagnosis and treatment strategies of frequent pediatric urological entities are described and discussed in this article.
