Ziel
Im Rahmen einer prospektiven Untersuchung wurde die Inzidenz osteoporosetypischer Frakturen und ihrer Komplikationen über den Zeitraum von einem Jahr in der Bevölkerung der Stadt Jena erfasst.
Ergebnisse
698 Patienten erlitten Frakturen. Frauen waren bei Fraktureintritt älter als Männer. Die Inzidenz von proximalen Femurfrakturen stieg nach dem 75. Lebensjahr exponentiell an und wies eine hohe Komplikationsrate auf. Die Häufigkeit von Komplikationen nach einer Fraktur war bei Frauen über 70 Jahre mindestens doppelt so hoch wie bei Männern. In beiden Geschlechtern zeigten sich nach einer operativen Therapie mehr Komplikationen als nach konservativer Frakturversorgung. Transfusionsbedürftige Anämie, Harnwegsinfekte und Pneumonien waren die wesentlichen internistischen Komplikationen. Die Mortalität nach proximalen Femurfrakturen lag bei 9,8 %.
Summary
Aim
The incidence of osteoporotic fractures as well as fracture- and procedure related complications were investigated prospectively in the urban population of 107,679 residents.
Results
A total of 698 fractures were registered. At the time of fracture women were older than men. There was a significant increase in fractures of the proximal femur in patients 75 years and older with growing number of complications. The rate of complications in women over 70 years is twice as large as in men. The main internal complications are anaemia, urinary tract infection and pneumonia.
