Einleitung

Stents sind heutzutage ein unverzichtbarer Teil der Therapie von Stenosen im Bereich des Gastrointestinaltraktes und des biliären Systems. Kontinunierliche Fortentwicklungen des Stentdesigns ermöglichten in den letzten Jahren eine Ausweitung der Indikationen und eine Verminderung der Komplikationsraten; gleichzeitig wurde die Therapie zunehmend differenzierter und komplexer. Dieser Artikel soll einen Überblick über den aktuellen Stand der Stenttherapie in der Viszeralmedizin geben.
