Zusammenfassung

Großflächige und tiefe Verletzungen können in kurzer Zeit zu einem nichtabschätzbaren Blutverlust führen. Für diese Fälle steht mittlerweile eine Reihe von Hilfsmitteln bereit, die die präklinische Blutungskontrolle erleichtern können. Insbesondere sind hier das aus dem militärischen Bereich stammende Tourniquet und Hämostyptika, also blutstillende Wundverbände und Granulate, zu erwähnen. In diesem Beitrag wird auf diese lokalen Maßnahmen näher eingegangen.
