14. Phagozyten und antigenpräsentierende Zellen

Zusammenfassung

Die mononukleären Phagozyten nehmen bei der antimikrobiellen Abwehr Aufgaben von großer Bedeutung wahr. Diese Zellen sind äußerst anpassungsfähig und entsprechend formenreich. Ihre wichtigsten Einzelfunktionen sind Phagozytose, intrazelluläre Keimabtötung, Sekretion biologisch aktiver Moleküle und Antigenpräsentation. Die mononukleären Phagozyten stehen mit diesen Fähigkeiten nicht allein da. Auch andere Zellen können die eine oder andere Funktion übernehmen. In diesem Kapitel werden zuerst die Vorgänge der Phagozytose und der intrazellulären Keimabtötung behandelt. Die Beschreibung gilt sowohl für mononukleäre Phagozyten als auch für neutrophile Granulozyten. Anschließend werden jene Funktionen behandelt, die dem mononukleär-phagozytären System vorbehalten bleiben. Obwohl mononukleäre Phagozyten zur Antigenpräsentation befähigt sind, sind dendritische Zellen bei der Antigenpräsentation effizienter. Dendritische Zellen entwickeln sich aus myeloiden Vorläuferzellen.
