Zusammenfassung

Immer wieder gibt es im onkologischen Alltag Diskussionen, ob, wann und wofür die Palliative Care dazu geholt wird. Dies sollte soweit wie möglich im Behandlungspfad des Patienten geklärt sein. Dennoch bestehen Unklarheiten über den richtigen Zeitpunkt. Weitläufig herrscht die Meinung, dass Palliative Care erst in der terminalen Phase zum Einsatz kommen soll. Dass aber Palliative Care schon frühzeitig im Krankheitsgeschehen zur gesundheitlichen Vorausplanung integriert werden kann, soll dieser Artikel aufzeigen. Damit gehören diese beiden Fachgebiete eng zusammen und die Zusammenarbeit sollte nicht nur auf Grund von Zertifizierungskriterien gesucht, sondern in der Praxis zu Gunsten der Betroffenen ohne Barrieren gelebt werden.
