New section in Zeitschrift für Gerontologie und Geriatrie “What is ageing?”

This new section serves to address fundamental and enduring questions related to the understanding of ageing and its possible and/or desired plasticity. We are looking for articles from biological to the social and behavioral sciences and from geriatric medicine to the humanities. Typically, articles in this entry are nominated by the journal’s advisory board. Final invitations and paper processing are handled by a subgroup from the advisory board. The entry is in principle open for all kinds of articles but predominantly aims for synergetic and integrative views including provocative perspectives on current and future ageing. Articles have to undergo a regular review. Our ambition is to have cutting-edge contributions that can raise the attention of scientists in research on ageing in a diversity of areas internationally. We plan for about 2 such papers per volume. …
