Zusammenfassung

Muskelverletzungen zählen zu den häufigsten Verletzungen im Sport. Dieses Kapitel gibt eine Übersicht über die Hintergründe der aktuellen Klassifikationssysteme von Muskelverletzungen. Die Diagnostik- und Therapieprinzipien werden anhand der wichtigsten Muskelverletzungen der unteren Extremität vorgestellt. Der Fokus liegt in der Darstellung einer multifaktoriellen Rehabilitation dieser Verletzungen. Dabei werden biomechanische und strukturspezifische Faktoren der jeweiligen Verletzung berücksichtigt.

Zumal Sprinter (Spezialisten) meist exzentrisch sehr stark sind und bereits über eine adäquate Faszikellänge verfügen (Mendiguchia et al. 2020).

Diskutiert wird, inwieweit eine intramuskuläre Sehnenbeteiligung einen Einfluss auf die Rehabilitationsdauer haben kann (Pollock et al. 2016; van der Made et al. 2018). Eine Anpassung des Trainings in Bezug auf sehnenbelastende Interventionen (Exzentrik, Plyometrie, höhere Geschwindigkeit usw.) erscheint möglicherweise sinnvoll. Einen Konsensus hierzu gibt es derzeit nicht.
