8. Mentales und energiespeicherndes Gedächtnis

Zusammenfassung

Wenn wir uns mit Essen befriedigen, nimmt das Belohnungsgedächtnis Einfluss auf das energiespeichernde Gedächtnis. Im gesteigerten Fall kann dies zur Fettsucht beitragen. Befinden wir uns dagegen in einer Bedrohungslage, brauchen wir das mentale Gedächtnis für die adäquate Reaktion. Die Nahrungsaufnahme wird blockiert und die Stressachsen aktiviert, um Reserven aus dem energiespeichernden Gedächtnis abzurufen. In beiden Fällen lenkt das mentale direkt das energiespeichernde Gedächtnis. Andersherum gibt es Hormone aus dem Fettgewebe, die das Gehirn und das mentale Gedächtnis beeinflussen. So nimmt beispielsweise das Fettgewebshormon Leptin Einfluss auf das Lernen. Signale aus dem energiespeichernden Gedächtnis werden auch über Nervenbahnen ins Gehirn vermittelt. Sie können erklären, warum „ein voller Bauch nicht gern studiert“.
