Einleitung
Das Zusammenleben in Städten schafft eigene soziale Realitäten. Daraus kann sich soziales Kapital bilden, das je nach Ausprägung die Gesundheit günstig oder ungünstig beeinflussen kann. Soziales Kapital äußert sich etwa in Vertrauen und sozialem Rückhalt, beides psychische Ressourcen mit gesundheitsförderlicher Wirkung. Ebenfalls nachgewiesen sind Effekte die durch kollektives Verhalten, die Akzeptanz von gesundheitsbezogenen Normen oder durch praktische Formen der Nachbarschaftshilfe entstehen.
Summary
Social interactions in urban settings could transform into social capital and social capital is related to both negative and positive health outcomes. Social capital could for instance promote feelings of trust and social support which are important mental resources. Moreover it has been shown, that local social capital influences health by other pathways, e.g. collective behaviours, the acceptance of health related norms or instrumental social support in neighbourhoods.
