Zusammenfassung

Die Palliativmedizin hat in den letzten Jahren eine umfassende Änderung erfahren. Kam sie in der Vergangenheit, stark geprägt vom Einsatz bei Krebserkrankungen, erst in der Endphase einer todbringenden Krankheit zum Einsatz, hat sich inzwischen die Anwendung palliativer Behandlungskonzepte auf immer mehr Fächer der Medizin und gleichzeitig auch auf längere Behandlungsphasen ausgeweitet.
