Zusammenfassung

Hintergrund

Die Berufsgruppen der Pflege treten im Zusammenhang mit Diskussionen und Entwicklungen über und zum Thema Prävention und Gesundheitsförderung in Deutschland kaum in Erscheinung. Die Ursachen dafür sind vielfältig. Die Pflege scheint durch Entwicklungen in Gesundheitspolitik und Gesundheitssystem auf die neuen Herausforderungen in Prävention und Gesundheitsförderung unvorbereitet zu sein. Es fehlen Konzepte und theoretische Grundlagen sowie systematische Kenntnisse, wo und in welchen Bereichen die Pflege in Deutschland im Rahmen der Prävention und Gesundheitsförderung effektiv und nützlich mitwirken kann.

Material und Methode

Basierend auf einer nationalen und internationalen systematischen Literaturrecherche werden Potenziale und präventive Aufgaben der Pflege in der Gesundheitsversorgung aufgezeigt.

Ergebnisse und Schlussfolgerung

Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass Pflegeberufe in vielen Ländern fest in den jeweiligen Gesundheitssystemen im Bereich von Prävention und Gesundheitsförderung verankert sind bzw. einen integralen Bestandteil in den bestehenden Präventionsprogrammen bilden. Die möglichen Einsatzfelder von Pflegenden in Prävention und Gesundheitsförderung gehen weit über das in Deutschland bisher vorstellbare Maß hinaus.

Abstract

Background

The nursing profession hardly appears in current discussions and developments in prevention and health promotion in Germany. The reasons are manifold. Nursing in Germany is not prepared to tackle the developments in health politics and the health care system in order to fulfil the tasks and duties in prevention and health promotion. Concepts and theoretical basics as well as systematic knowledge are missing regarding which areas in Germany nurses are able to participate in an effective and beneficial way in prevention and health promotion.

Material and methods

Based on a systematic national and international literature search, potentials and preventive tasks of nurses in different health care systems are presented.

Findings and conclusion

The findings show that nurses in different countries are firmly anchored in health care systems. They are an integrated part of preventive programs. The integration of nursing professions in prevention and health promotion in the selected countries goes far beyond the German level.
