Smartphone-basierte Gesundheitsförderung im Alter

Ein explorativer, mehrkomponentiger Ansatz zur Verbesserung der Gesundheit im höheren Alter

Zusammenfassung

Hintergrund

Altersbedingte gesundheitliche Probleme sind oft mit dem Zusammenwirken von physiologischen, sozialen und psychologischen Faktoren verbunden. Um dem möglichst effektiv entgegenzuwirken, wurde in der Vergangenheit vorgeschlagen, mehrkomponentige Interventionsansätze, unter Berücksichtigung aller 3 Faktoren, zu entwerfen. Dementsprechend beschreibt die vorliegende Arbeit einen Smartphone-basierten Ansatz, um einen positiven, gesundheitlichen Effekt mithilfe von Alltagsaktivitäten zu erzielen. Die Aktivitäten waren dabei hinsichtlich physischer und kognitiver Faktoren akzentuiert.

Methodik

Es wurden im Rahmen der Intervention gesundheitsbezogene Variablen (z. B. Gang, Kognition) sowie die individuelle Motivation zur körperlichen Aktivität untersucht. Insgesamt nahmen 34 ältere Erwachsene (Alter: 75,0 ± 3,7 Jahre; Geschlecht: 15 Frauen) im Rahmen einer Interventions- oder Kontrollgruppe an der Studie teil. Die Smartphone-basierten Interventionsmaßnahmen fanden 2‑mal/Woche statt.

Ergebnisse

In der Eingangstestung zeigte sich bereits eine hohe Motivation zur körperlichen Aktivität in beiden Gruppen. Im Rahmen der Nutzungsanalyse der Smartphone-Applikation wurde diese als „nutzerfreundlich“ bewertet.

Diskussion

Letztendlich zeigten sich jedoch, basierend auf den Interventionsmaßnahmen und -ergebnissen, keine gesundheitsbezogenen Effekte, was ggf. auf unzureichende Intensitäten im Rahmen der Intervention zurückgeführt werden könnte. In weitere Studien sollten dementsprechend weniger aktive oder gesundheitlich eingeschränkte, ältere Erwachsene einbezogen werden.
