Abstract
The development of inpatient psychodynamic psychotherapy in the last 50 years has moved away from the application of psychoanalytic outpatient treatment to a multiprofessional and multimethod psychotherapy. The organizational framework of the hospital and the psychoanalytical direction of the leader of the department have a great influence on the applied psychotherapeutic field. Nowadays, inpatient psychotherapy is considered to be a complex treatment in the catalogue of medical procedures of the DRG. The heart of integrative psychodynamic psychotherapy in the hospital is the multiprofessional team. Two examples of the therapeutic function of the multiprofessional team will be presented, in addition to the general tasks of the team and the group analytic rules for leadership.
