Zusammenfassung
Qualität von Gesundheitsinformationen im World Wide Web und die Frage einer Qualitätsbeurteilung und Qualitätssicherung sind neue Herausforderungen für Public Health. Das Ziel dieses Artikel ist es, die vorhandene empirische Evidenz hinsichtlich Qualität von Internetinformationen und Auswirkungen auf die öffentliche Gesundheit anhand dreier unterschiedlicher systematischer Übersichtsarbeiten kritisch zu bewerten und im zweiten Teil die aus Sicht des Autors notwendigen Konsequenzen aus einer Public-health-Perspektive zu diskutieren. Diese beinhalten Verbraucheraufklärung und technische Innovationen, um Konsumenten auf vertrauenswürdige Gesundheitsinformationen im World Wide Web zu führen.
Abstract
The quality of health information on the World Wide Web and the question of quality evaluation and assurance are emerging challenges for public health.The aim of this article is to critically appraise the available evidence from three systematic reviews regarding quality of health information on the web and its impact on public health and, in the second part of the article, to discuss necessary consequences from a public health perspective.These include consumer education and technological innovations to guide consumers to trustworthy health information on the web.
