Zusammenfassung

In Arbeiten des Philosophen Emmanuel Levinas (1906-1995) wird der unbedingte Anspruch des Anderen hervorgehoben, der dem eigenen Anspruch vorgeordnet sei. Die zentrale Stellung des Subjekts wird hier zugunsten des unbedingten Anspruchs des Anderen aufgegeben. Bevor ich zu mir selbst komme, so Levinas, steht mir der Andere gegenüber; dieser besitzt die Qualität der unbedingten vorausgehenden Verpflichtung – und erst durch den Anderen komme ich zu mir selbst.
