Arthritiden bei Psoriasis vulgaris und anderen Formen der Psoriasis (Rothschild 1996; Schilling 1986) sowie bei verschiedenen gastrointestinalen Grundkrankheiten (Veysu. Mielants 1994) sind eine klinisch vielgestaltige Gruppe von Erkrankungen des Bewegungssystems. Sie unterscheiden sich im Befallsmuster peripherer Gelenke, in der Art und Häufigkeit des Befall des Achsenskeletts, in der Häufigkeit des entzündlichen Befalls der Enthesen (Enthesitis), des Knochens und Periosts sowie in der Beteiligung von destruierenden und ankylosierenden Prozessen. Neben chronisch progredienten Verläufen finden sich remittierende oder schubweise Verlaufsformen.
