Lebensrettende Maßnahmen bei Kindern („paediatric life support“)

Die Leitlinien 2015 zu den lebensrettenden Maßnahmen bei Kindern [„paediatric life support“ (PLS)] basieren auf drei wichtigen Prinzipien:
1.
Die Inzidenz kritischer Erkrankungen oder Verletzungen, insbesondere die eines manifesten Atem-Kreislauf-Stillstands, ist bei Kindern wesentlich niedriger als bei Erwachsenen.
 
2.
Die Erkrankungen und pathophysiologischen Abläufe des pädiatrischen Patienten unterscheiden sich von denen des Erwachsenen.
 
3.
Die Mehrzahl kindlicher Notfälle wird primär von pädiatrisch nicht spezialisierten Helfern versorgt, die nur über eine eingeschränkte Erfahrung mit pädiatrischen Notfällen verfügen.
