Zusammenfassung

In diesem Beitrag erfolgt eine theoretische Annäherung an das Konzept Lebensqualität und dessen Verwendung im Zusammenhang mit Menschen mit Demenz, die Potenziale für Prävention und Gesundheitsförderung sowie die Möglichkeiten der quantitativen Erfassung. Zu Beginn wird die Verwendung des Begriffs Lebensqualität in Abhängigkeit von Zeit und Kontext beschrieben. Anschließend werden unterschiedliche theoretische Grundlagen mit Bezug zur Demenz vorgestellt. Prävention und Gesundheitsförderung werden als Potenziale für die Lebensqualität von Menschen mit Demenz beleuchtet und den Abschluss bildet eine ausführliche Beschreibung von allgemeinen Grundlagen, Perspektiven und ausgewählten Instrumenten zur Erfassung der Lebensqualität von Menschen mit Demenz.
