Zusammenfassung

Im Buchteil I wurde die Aufnahme, Konsolidierung und Langzeitabspeicherung von Fetten beschrieben. Fette werden im Darm verkleinert, in der Dünndarmzelle aufgenommen, über die Blutbahn mit (kurzkettige Fettsäuren) oder ohne (langkettige Fettsäuren) Beteiligung der Leber zum Fettgewebe transportiert und dort langfristig als Triglyzerid und als Komplex aus Cholesterin + Fettsäure abgelagert. Auf diesem Weg werden viele molekulare Pfade benutzt, und so ist es verständlich, dass es einige genetische Defekte gibt, die zu fehlerhafter Fettsäureaufnahme, -konsolidierung, -ablagerung und -abruf führen können. In diesem Kapital sind beispielhaft drei genetische Defekte mit schwerwiegenden Folgekrankheiten kurz vorgestellt.
