Zusammenfassung

Neue Applikatoren

Die Wirksamkeit intranasal verabreichter Medikamente ist seit Jahrzehnten bewiesen. Neue Applikatoren, die eine feine Zerstäubung der Substanzen ermöglichen und somit deren Absorption beschleunigen, sind billig, einfach anzuwenden und werden, was wichtig ist, von Kindern meist gut toleriert.

Vorteile im Rettungsdienst

Diese Applikationsmethode ist auch für den Rettungsdienst zunehmend interessant, weil damit viele Medikamente zuverlässig appliziert werden können, ohne dass eine i.v.-Leitung nötig ist. So reduziert sich der Stress sowohl für das behandelnde Team als auch für die kleinen Patienten. Zudem können dringend benötigte Therapien frühzeitig begonnen werden.

Anwendung durch Laien

In Notfallsituationen können mit den neuen Applikatoren sogar Laien Medikamente verabreichen, für die es bisher Fachpersonal brauchte; als Beispiele sind die Krampftherapie und die Antagonisierung der Opiatwirkung zu nennen.
