48. Gesundheitsökonomische Folgen der Adipositas

Zusammenfassung

Dieses Kapitel gibt einen Überblick über die gesundheitsökonomischen Folgen von Adipositas. Zunächst werden Methoden der Messung der ökonomischen Krankheitslast von Adipositas und Ergebnisse internationaler und nationaler Krankheitskostenstudien vorgestellt. Diese Studien zeigen, dass Adipositas zu einer erhöhten Inanspruchnahme von Versorgungsleistungen als auch zu relevanten volkswirtschaftlichen Mehrkosten führt, was gleichzeitig den Bedarf an Prävention von Adipositas reflektiert. Anschließend werden Methoden zur Beurteilung der Wirtschaftlichkeit von entsprechenden Interventionen vorgestellt. Die Studienergebnisse wichtiger Kosteneffektivitätsanalysen verdeutlichen die unterschiedliche gesundheitsökonomische Wirksamkeit verschiedener präventiver Interventionen. Eine wirksame und nachhaltige Bekämpfung von Adipositas erfordert, vor dem Hintergrund finanziell knapper Ressourcen, eine verstärkte Konzeption und Implementierung kosteneffektiver Interventionen.
