Gerontechnologie zwischen Akzeptanz und Evidenz

Ergebnisse des Niedersächsischen Forschungsverbunds „Gestaltung Altersgerechter Lebenswelten“

Der Themenschwerpunkt der vorliegenden Ausgabe von der Zeitschrift für Gerontologie und Geriatrie stellt ausgewählte Arbeiten aus dem Niedersächsischen Forschungsverbund Gestaltung Altersgerechter Lebenswelten (GAL) vor, in dem in den Jahren 2008–2013 etwa 70 Forscher tätig waren. Ziel des interdisziplinären Verbunds war es, neue Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologien für altersgerechte Lebenswelten zu identifizieren, weiterzuentwickeln und zu evaluieren [2]. In verschiedenen Szenarien (u. a. Erkennung pflegerelevanter Alltagsaktivitäten, häusliches Monitoring nach geriatrischer Rehabilitation [5], Sturzerkennung und Sturzrisiko-Assessment [1]) mit insgesamt 79 Feldinstallationen wurden GAL-Technologien auf technische Machbarkeit und Akzeptanz hin erforscht. Die technischen Entwicklungen wurden von Untersuchungen zu Bedarf und Präferenz der Unterstützung, zu Technikbereitschaft und -akzeptanz sowie durch Analysen volkswirtschaftlicher Konsequenzen des Einsatzes begleitet. Der 1. Beitrag berichtet aus einer dieser Studien – konkret einer für das Land Niedersachsen repräsentativen Befragung von mehr als 2000 Personen im Alter über 49 Jahre. Die Autoren relativieren die oft angeführte Annahme, dass allein das Alter potenzieller Nutzer für die Akzeptanz von Assistenzsystemen entscheidend ist, und zeigen in ihrer Analyse, dass einerseits Kompositions- und Kohorteneffekte sowie andererseits sich verändernde Bedarfslagen beachtet werden müssen. Weiterhin führen sie an, dass zukünftige Kohorten zwar technikerfahrener sein werden, dass sich die Technologien aber auch kontinuierlich weiterentwickeln und insofern nur lebenslanges Lernen helfen kann, im Alter nicht vor der Technikentwicklung überholt zu werden. …
