Zusammenfassung

Hintergrund

Der Anteil der an Notfallambulanzen zu versorgenden geriatrischen Patienten nimmt stetig zu. Neben dem fortgeschrittenen Alter sind Multimorbidität oder Frailty führende Probleme in der Versorgung und Triage dieser Patienten.

Methode

Recherche der aktuellen Literatur.

Ergebnisse und Schlussfolgerung

Die Vulnerabilität gegenüber verschiedenen Stressfaktoren bedingt ein schlechteres Behandlungsergebnis, Gefahr des Autonomieverlusts und eine höhere Mortalität. Neurokognitive Störungen und Zuständen wie Delir wird in akuten Situationen oft zu wenig Augenmerk geschenkt. Daher ist es wichtig, alle diese zentralen Merkmale, die es auch in der akuten Behandlung zu berücksichtigen gilt, rasch zu erfassen und die Risikopatienten entsprechend zu identifizieren.
