Zusammenfassung

Der Fuß bietet aufgrund seiner komplexen Anatomie eine Vielzahl von Verletzungsmöglichkeiten im Sport. In diesem Kapitel werden evidenzbasierte Diagnostik- und Therapiekonzepte im Zusammenhang mit akuten Verletzungen und chronischen Beschwerden des Vor-, Mittel- und Rückfußes dargestellt.

Diskutiert wird eine kompensatorische exzessive Extension im Mittelfußbereich mit resultierender Belastung des Talonavikulargelenkes.

Auch das in der Vergangenheit beschriebene „Foot Core System“-Konzept (McKeon et al. 2015) und die daraus abgeleiteten Trainingsvarianten müssen, basierend auf den Beobachtungen zu den beschriebenen Aktivierungsfaktoren der kurzen Fußmuskulatur, kritisch hinterfragt werden.
