Fit mit Rollator

Pilotstudie zur Machbarkeit eines Mobilitätstrainings für Rollatornutzer

Hintergrund

Immer mehr ältere Menschen benutzen bei Mobilitätseinschränkungen einen Rollator. Die Handhabung dieser Gehhilfen ist aber oft nur unzureichend gegeben. Parallel beeinflussen körperliche Abbauprozesse, veränderte Umweltanforderungen und Sturzangst die Mobilität. Das neue Trainingsprogramm „Fit mit Rollator“ hat das Ziel, entsprechende Kompetenzen aufzubauen und die Mobilität zu verbessern. Die vorliegende Pilotstudie diente der Machbarkeitsanalyse, der Schätzung von Effekten und der Gewinnung von methodischen Erkenntnissen für weitere Forschung.

Material und Methode

Die Untersuchung wurde in einem Prä-post-Design mit 28 Rollatornutzern (Alter 68 bis 91 Jahre) in betreuten Wohnanlagen durchgeführt. Dreizehn Personen wurden 10 Wochen (90 min, 2-mal/Woche) trainiert, 15 fungierten als Kontrollgruppe. Erhoben wurden Werte für funktionale Mobilität, Hand-, Beinkraft, Gleichgewicht, Rollatornutzung und Sturzangst.

Ergebnisse

Die Abbrecherquote für das Training betrug 38 % aufgrund von gesundheitlichen Bedenken (n = 2), Zeitmangel (n = 1) und trainingsunabhängigen Veränderungen des Gesundheitszustandes (n = 3). Es konnten mittlere bis starke Effekte erzielt werden. Daten zu Rekrutierung und Akzeptanz einzelner Übungen liegen vor.

Schlussfolgerung

Die Machbarkeit und die Effektivität des Trainings sind als positiv zu bewerten. Förderlich für die regelmäßige Teilnahme war die räumlich einfache Erreichbarkeit des Angebots. Die Alltagsrelevanz der Ergebnisse und das Fehlen vergleichbarer Interventionen legen weitere Forschungsbemühungen nahe. Zu optimieren sind Rekrutierungsstrategien, Trainingsaufwand und Erhebungsmethoden.
