Zusammenfassung

Die demographische Entwicklung bedingt, dass zunehmend ältere kritisch kranke und teilweise multimorbide Patienten versorgt werden müssen. Dieses spezielle Patientenkollektiv benötigt besondere Versorgungsansätze, die bisher in medizinischen Leitlinien nicht ausreichend Berücksichtigung finden. Um den qualitätsbezogenen Defiziten zu begegnen, ist es allerdings unabdingbar, nicht nur die vorhandenen Leitlinien strukturell einzubinden, sondern auch die Aspekte der Altersmedizin aktiv in die Neuentwicklungen einzubringen. Am Beispiel der Leitlinie „nichtinvasive Beatmung“ wird exemplarisch dargestellt, wie der Gestaltungsprozess und die Umsetzung im klinischen Alltag realisiert werden können.
