5. Essstörungen im DSM-5

Zusammenfassung

Die 5. Revision des Diagnostischen und statistischen Manuals Psychischer Störungen DSM-5 (DSM-5) beinhaltet für den Bereich Essstörungen einige wesentliche Änderungen. Fütter- und Essstörungen werden nun einer Kategorie zugeordnet. Für die Diagnose Anorexia nervosa wurde das Gewichtskriterium neu definiert. Das Kriterium der Amenorrhö wurde entfernt. Des Weiteren zählt die Binge-Eating-Störung als eigenständige Diagnose zu den Essstörungen. Die Restkategorie „Nicht näher bezeichnete Essstörungen“ wurde umbenannt in „Nicht näher bezeichnete Fütter- oder Essstörung". Zudem wurde die Kategorie „Anders bezeichnete Fütter- oder Essstörungen“ für atypische Formen der jeweiligen Ess- oder Fütterstörung eingeführt. Unter dieser Diagnosekategorie werden im DSM-5 die Purging-Störung und das „Night-Eating-Syndrom neu aufgeführt.
