2005 bildete die American Heart Association (AHA) zusammen mit dem amerikanischen Roten Kreuz (ARC) den „Nationalen Wissenschaftlichen Rat für Erste Hilfe“ zur Evaluierung der auf Erste-Hilfe-Maßnahmen bezogenen wissenschaftlichen Studien im Zusammenhang mit praktischen Erste-Hilfe-Maßnahmen. Auf dieser Basis wurden im selben Jahr die AHA-ARC-Leitlinien zur Ersten Hilfe herausgegeben. Dieser Beirat wurde später mit Vertretern verschiedener internationaler Erste-Hilfe-Organisationen erweitert, und daraus entstand der „Internationale Wissenschaftlichen Rat für Erste Hilfe“ (IFASAB). Dieser prüfte die wissenschaftliche Literatur zur Ersten Hilfe und veröffentlichte 2010 in Zusammenarbeit mit dem „International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation“ (ILCOR) Handlungsempfehlungen zur Wiederbelebung [1, 2]. …
