Life after back injury

One nurse tells the story of her struggle to regain her confidence and full-time employment after a back injury at work

I sustained a back injury at work as I transferred an elderly patient from her wheelchair to the toilet. I reported the incident to the nurse in charge and an accident form was completed. At first, I was sure it was a muscular injury and that it would heal quickly. That night my back became stiff and more painful. The doctor I consulted the following morning prescribed analgesia and rest.
