Zusammenfassung

Depressionen des höheren Lebensalters wirken sich ungünstig auf die Prognose komorbider somatischer Erkrankungen aus. Mit verschiedenen häufigen Erkrankungen (Diabetes mellitus, ischämische Herzkrankheit, Schlaganfall, M. Parkinson) besteht eine reziproke wechselseitige Risikoerhöhung. Für die Behandlung steht eine breite Palette nichtsomatischer und somatischer Methoden, einschließlich spezieller Interventionen zur Wirkungsverstärkung bzw. bei Therapieresistenz, zur Verfügung.
